Welcome to the website of the McIntosh County Wind Energy Committee, LLC.

In an attempt to keep interested parties more involved and informed about wind energy development in McIntosh County, the MCWEC has designed this website and linked it to the city websites of Wishek and Ashley. It will be updated periodically, as events occur, and we hope you find it informational and helpful, in answering your questions about wind energy development in our county.

Several county economic development and governmental entities have made a financial investment in our limited liability company (LLC), and a board of directors has been elected to make decisions on behalf of the company.

Member/owners of the company are:

• City of Ventruia
• Ashley JDA
• Zeeland JDA
• City of Ashley
• McIntosh County Commission
• Lehr Economic Dev. Corp.
• a single entity consisting of members of the original McIntosh County Wind Energy Committee*

*All entities investing money in the company are represented by a director on the Board of Governors. However, when the board was elected, some who were instrumental in organizing the MCWEC and had a real interest in the project found they did not have any representation in the company because they were not affiliated with any of the other member entities.

A $5,000 grant was received for the ND Division of Community Services (DCS) to help us get this project started. The group decided to name as one of the owner members the "founding group of MCWEC", and the grant was noted as that group's financial commitment to the company.
