Our Town

Located in the heart of the upper Midwest, the prairie city of Ashley is the best of both worlds: a small modern town with many big city benefits. Positioned directly on Hwy 11, Ashley is located on a tour of many historical landmarks or the perfect place to visit to escape the bustle of urban life. The surrounding prairies and untouched earth offer much to explore, and much more to discover.

Established in 1888, the City of Ashley holds strong to the traditions of its’ past yet, Ashley continues to strive to become a center for technology and innovation. The community has been recognized as a leader in promoting economic development both locally and nationwide. With many newly-remodeled businesses & attractive main street, Ashley is a great place to call home, conduct or start a business, to have fun in the sun and snow, and to enjoy the rolling prairies and vast blue skies.

Ashley. For all the right reasons. It may just be the place for you.

Since then the library has moved to many locations until it found a permanent home at the Ashley City Hall. There is a summer reading program for children ages 4 to those in 2nd grade. Another feature in the library is a computer with internet connection for patrons use. The library is able to order any specific choices from the State Library or other libraries throughout the country. The library is open to the public, no membership or card required.
